Memory 001: Starting over again.

Good morning 625 Topper Street! Usually, the house would be filled with the chatter of the drone!kids and the drone!wife as they start the day all fresh and chirpy. However, this time there's something, or rather someone, who's acting out of the "ordinary" for drones. Rather, when the drone!mum pops up to shake her "daughter" awake, all she gets is a sleepy, "Ten more minutes dad, please...?" Drone!mum shakes her head with exasperation, but gives the teenager the extra time she wants.
Tara is in bed less than that though, as her sleepy mind suddenly realizes that something is not right. Her mom isn't home, she's working out of the country. It's dad who usually wakes her up. And he would NEVER give her ten extra minutes.
Action: 625 Topper Street
Hey Sniper, you have a blonde girl dressed in pyjamas trying to sneak to the phone. She's trying to avoid the drone!mum and the kids, but obviously she's no Spy. However, she does look determined, if not nervous, to get to that phone. Care to speak with her and say hi to your new not!daughter?
Action: Topper Street
She's just had a conversation with her new not!dad, but there's still plenty of things she doesn't get. She's taken to wondering the streets outside now, gaping at the perfect houses and trees that line the entire neighborhood.
Action: School
Mayfield High, there's a new kid who's in town. Tara "Mundy" is looking a little lost though, and she has no idea where the classes are, or even which is her locker. She's going around asking people for help. Maybe she's just waved you over then? Or maybe you see her wandering the corridor? Either way, will you help her out?
Action: Town, after school.
The moment the bell goes, she's out of the place immediately to check out the rest of town. Prison or no, she's not one to turn down the opportunity to go exploring. You might see her around as she checks out the place.
Phone, unfiltered
(She was already told that she had been taken from home, that this wasn't even the USA that she had grown up in. Still, she had to at least try. Her fingers nearly slip as she dials in the number.)
...Dad? Are you there?

Date: 2011-11-13 02:43 am (UTC)The Joker is one of Gotham City's worst criminals. He's dangerous. No one knows why he calls himself that, but he always makes jokes at every crime scene. He...he hurts and kills people, just because he thinks it's funny. He's not like the regular villains either. Like...in Jump City, most of them are just bank robbers and they do hold-ups. The Joker...he's not like that. Everything he does...it's all just for making people suffer, or just for, for a...a joke.
Usually back home, there's the Batman to stop him. He's like a super hero, and he's the only one who can take down the Joker. But we don't have him here...

Date: 2011-11-13 02:50 am (UTC)*Give him a minute to process this. He vaguely knows who Batman is, and he's seen the guy around town a little. But a reader of comics Sniper is not. At least those of the non-Saxton Hale variety.*
Th' guy in the cape who I chased off th' roof? He's around somewhere. So a guy who kills people an' thinks is funny is here an' yer holed up in your room?
Someone will jus' shoot him an' you won't have t' worry about it. Hell, I'll go shoot him if it'll keep you from screamin' loike that.
*Seriously. What's the big deal here?*

Are...are you sure the Batman's here?
(If he is, then there's a spark of hope for Mayfield yet.)

I think so. Or he was. Haven't seen him lately and I sleep on th' roof so I think I would 'ave if he's still gallivanting around on the roofs.
There a particular reason you think this Joker guy is after you? And some reason that you think hidin' in yer room is gonna keep him out?

If he's here though, then hopefully he'll be able to take care of him. The Joker goes after everyone. Whenever he does something, it usually involves a lot of people, and they could be anyone. No one is safe from him.
(She draws her knees closer to her chest and shivers.)
I'm...just being careful.

Date: 2011-11-13 04:10 am (UTC)*Something he's all too familiar with.*
Trust me on this. It'll only work fer so long. Besides, I doubt with all th' people in this town the person he hunts down is gonna be you.

Date: 2011-11-13 04:13 am (UTC)...how can you be sure?

Date: 2011-11-13 04:14 am (UTC)Does he know where you live?

Date: 2011-11-13 04:29 am (UTC)*He would say something along the lines of her being safer there with him up on the roof shooting anything that gets close, but he gets the feeling that would make her feel the OPPOSITE of safe.*

Date: 2011-11-13 04:37 am (UTC)(Yes, that would work oh so well Sniper. You're ACTUALLY learning how to deal with a non-mercenary person.)

Date: 2011-11-13 04:41 am (UTC)*The drone mom putters by with fresh laundry and murmurs something about how she should listen to her father. Sniper just stares after her and reaches up to push his hat down so it covers his eyes.*
hngh. Well .. th' point of takin' hostages is for someone to care that people have been taken. No one's gonna care. We've had zombies an' aliens an' pod people, one guy with a gun is nothin'.

Yeah yeah. Enjoy hidin' in yer room.
*He'll just be heading back to the roof, his safe haven where he can just ignore everyone. But he will keep an eye out for whoever this guy is that Tara is so scared of. Just in case.*
