Memory 001: Starting over again.

Good morning 625 Topper Street! Usually, the house would be filled with the chatter of the drone!kids and the drone!wife as they start the day all fresh and chirpy. However, this time there's something, or rather someone, who's acting out of the "ordinary" for drones. Rather, when the drone!mum pops up to shake her "daughter" awake, all she gets is a sleepy, "Ten more minutes dad, please...?" Drone!mum shakes her head with exasperation, but gives the teenager the extra time she wants.

Tara is in bed less than that though, as her sleepy mind suddenly realizes that something is not right. Her mom isn't home, she's working out of the country. It's dad who usually wakes her up. And he would NEVER give her ten extra minutes.

Action: 625 Topper Street
Hey Sniper, you have a blonde girl dressed in pyjamas trying to sneak to the phone. She's trying to avoid the drone!mum and the kids, but obviously she's no Spy. However, she does look determined, if not nervous, to get to that phone. Care to speak with her and say hi to your new not!daughter?

Action: Topper Street
She's just had a conversation with her new not!dad, but there's still plenty of things she doesn't get. She's taken to wondering the streets outside now, gaping at the perfect houses and trees that line the entire neighborhood.

Action: School
Mayfield High, there's a new kid who's in town. Tara "Mundy" is looking a little lost though, and she has no idea where the classes are, or even which is her locker. She's going around asking people for help. Maybe she's just waved you over then? Or maybe you see her wandering the corridor? Either way, will you help her out?

Action: Town, after school.
The moment the bell goes, she's out of the place immediately to check out the rest of town. Prison or no, she's not one to turn down the opportunity to go exploring. You might see her around as she checks out the place.

Phone, unfiltered
(She was already told that she had been taken from home, that this wasn't even the USA that she had grown up in. Still, she had to at least try. Her fingers nearly slip as she dials in the number.)
...Dad? Are you there?

My...hat...?

(She's going to reach up for it and take it off to look at it. Seems normal enough.)

Is there something wrong with it?

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
It...

It wasn't straight.

[But now it's off. So he is no longer bothered by how said hat was not straight. Kid is now obviously less bothered.]

You just arrived this morning, you said?

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Umm...sorry?

Yeah, that's right. I'm Tara. And you are...?

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-11-17 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you.

My name is Death the Kid. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Tara. Though Mayfield is hardly the ideal place to meet.

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-11-18 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, tell me about it. I've heard so much bad news about this place, and I've just been here a few hours. It makes trigonometry seem like a full-day pass to a carnival.

And you don't have to call me "Miss". Just Tara is fine, Death.

(Thankfully, she's already met her neighbor, "Greed", so being introduced to someone named "Death" isn't surprising.)

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-11-18 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh--please call me Kid.

[Insert joke where one says "Death is my father!"]

Not a fan of math?

[Yes. He will ask you about math instead of talking more about Mayfield maybe we're not talking about someone with the best social skills with strangers ok.]

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-11-19 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Not really...I'm not that good at it.

(That's ok, totally normal question for a high school teens. I think.)

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-11-19 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Suuure.]

If you need help, I would be happy to help you with it.

[Provided the numbers are even. And the shapes are symmetrical.]

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-11-20 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Some people have already told me about this place, so I'm pretty set for now, but if I've got any other questions, I'll let you know.

So, what grade are you in then Kid? I'm in tenth grade, maybe we've got class together or something.

Quick self, do math! What grade is 15ish? It is like 10th grade, right? XD

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-11-21 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
I was placed in the tenth grade as well, though I don't quite understand the system of placing students in grades based only on age. It seems rather arbitrary.

I...have no idea, I had to Google it myself! But yes, I think so.

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-11-21 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sweet, we'll have classes together! Do you know the teachers here? How are they like?

Good enough for me XD

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Kid shrugs, thinking.]

The drone instructors teach directly from the textbook and aren't particularly engaging. They are strict about maintaining order in the classroom.

The professors who are not drones, however, can be very interesting.

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Who are the professors who aren't..."drones", and what do they teach?

(PLEASE let one of them be a math teacher. She can't imagine anything worse than getting one of the robotic people in town to teach her her worst subject on earth.)

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on the date. There are new people all of the time it seems, and some of them end up being teachers.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what they teach. Unless the person was actually an instructor at home, their teaching skills are not always the best.

[ooc: Aside from Mustang teaching chemistry I have no idea who teaches what XD sorry! also orz I am so sorry so late ;-;]

[identity profile] forgotten-titan.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
((OOC: no, it's no problem at all! I love tagging with you!))

Oh.

(She seems a bit down by this. Eventhough she's not a fan of school, at least it offered her a sense of normalcy, something that she could do and she was used to. With teachers who can't even teach, the normal factor just got thrown out the window.)

Well, I guess I'll just have to deal with it. Maybe I can study on my own instead.

[identity profile] equal-shots.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: yay!]

[Kid frowns.]

If you ever need help, I would be happy to try. I'm not well versed in every subject, but I can get by with the help of a textbook as necessary.
